Poor Mike, not sure what to say, thanks to the folks who got hold of me and Roo last night to let us know.

We first Met Mike about 12 years ago when we ran an independant Mage game in London, he was kinda our keenest player, from there he started coming down for weekly tabletops at our flat in Golders Green.  And one day we dragged him to a LT pubmeet and told him how wonderful the harts were.

He was such a gentle giant and a very dear friend, I'll certainly miss sitting down and having a heart to heart with Mike-O.

And this is baby Alice, sorry for the massive lack of posts but it's been a long time concentrating on making sure everything went according to plan.

Myself and Ruth are really happy.

We've announced it to a few friends already and I think the rumourmill has been a-working...

However official announcement and all that.

Ruth and I are having a Baby, it (for we do not wish to enquire as to the sex of the child) is due next May. It's all massivly exciting and a little daunting. Some Larp friends might not see us for a while though as priorities get shifted.

The Ice Hotel break is something of a celebration, somewhere Roo has always wanted to go and I think it's going to be an ideal time to get away.

I have a provisional booking for the Ice hotel held until tomorrow...

Roo has wanted to go since forever and they have one space left for the date we want. And my cover at work is being a pain about signing off on it.

I'm beginning to feel a little vexed.

Subject:Welcome (back) to the mobile Age.
Time:05:03 pm
After much problems with previous mobile including
a) too whizzy for it's own good
b) lack of ability to hold charge
c) lack of coverage in the north (and no internet coverage at all up here *sulk*)
d) shaped like a brick and about as heavy

Which all added up to it sitting at home uncharged.

I have shelled out for two matching Motorola V3 noirs for myself and Roo.
These are
a) Fairly basic as far as new phones go
b) have nice long standby times
c) According to the website map coverage on Orange looks much better then 3 was.
d) Slender and pretty, weight 95g.

So as of Tuesday we will be phoneable, textable and all that jazz.
Although I've mainly bought them so we can phone each other.

Ran my first Ars Magica game on Saturday.

Overall was very impressed with the smoothness of fifth edition, the only bit that is currently hurting my head is metacreator... however, I suspect this might be an app where reading the help file may actually help a lot.

I wouldn't like to record keep this game on pen and paper.

Players seemed happy and picked themselves a mid term goal.

More prep required for the next session.

Event done and sleep cycle returning to normal, mainly tired but reminded of how much I enjoy actuation. A few niggles and things that didn't go well but for the most part the player base seemed entertained. I think we did a pretty good job. Cuffley though was very strange to go back to, especially after getting used to it being half an hour down the road, 4 and a half hour drive was just plain wierd.

Ars Magicka this weekend, first session and first tabletop I've run since the move... slightly nervy, although I've done more prep for this then I've ever done for a tabletop game before I still don't feel it's quite enough.

Really looking forward to it though.

Shopping tonight for food for my house guests and probably doing "The Battle of Darrowshire" on warcraft with my guild. The culmination of a really nice plotline involving trying to save the soul of a dead child and her Father. Tonight we summon all the ghosts and undead who took place in the original battle and try to change the course of history. Revenant plot no.2 but I'm really looking forward to it, oh and we're going to need at least 10 people there to assist, last time we tried it we got so wiped out.

now though, off home for lunch... the perks of Yorkshire life :)

Got into work to loads of emails from my american colleagues wishing me well as I work for an American team and know them all pretty well it's not too suprising, don't think they understood that I work in Leeds now but they also wished that all my friends were ok. I felt a little guilty at all this sympathy being aimed at me.

I was quite touched and thought that those who were actually affected should know that the world really does care.

So dear friends, lots of people you don't know hope that you are all safe and well. I told them you all were.
